Ok guys, long post, but I want you to know how excited I am!

I started working out again, and training in boxing...there is no stopping. I live in a very small Unit andmy 55 gallon looks HUGE already.... So I came up with the idea, on renting out a closed locked garage very close to my house, to setup my gym equipment in...

Now... why im excited? Because, I am actually thinking of setting up a 250 gallon tank in my private work out garage :P

So all there will be, are my training equipment...and a 8x2x2 aquarium (Which im thinking of getting).

I am trying to get a garage as CLOSE to my home as possible, so everyday I can visit my fish and obviously work out. I will most likely get a battery powered system, for the lights and filters (Which should not be A LOT of watts).

So please advise on what you think of my garage gym + aquarium :P

I came up with the aquarium part, when I realized how many ppl have aquariums in basements...for their monsters. Please advise :):grinno:

I think that its an awesome idea given that there is an accessible water source nearby to do water changes and the owners of the garage are cool with it. How big is the garage?

to be honest, im stil looking into garages. Im willing to pay like $30-$40 a week for a garage (in sydney, thats a huge deal for a garage). But I figured, my bench press and weights wont even fill half the garage up, so lets do something I could never do in my room...a 250 gallon :)

Love the encouragement chizzle, once I get the go ahead from people, and know what to be careful for I will go ahead! Oh and the owners should be ok, since im renting out the whole garage, and the floors are concrete?

The real question is how much do you bench? ;) But, in all honesty that sounds like a wicked idea! If I could do the same I would do it in a heartbeat! I dont think my weight room would fit a 10 gallon...haha

 sounds really nice..

Nice idea... Just make sure you are thinking long term.. Orelse you are with the 250 and nowhere to go... Not being negative but u gotto have your contingencies straight...
As for stock Oscars are good with some cats or bichirs... Goood luck mate...

I agree with this. Without the 250g tank, your workout/gym thing is flexible. You can give it up if you want to or have to. With the aquarium in there, you are bound to it. You'll have to keep the garage even if you stop working out there.
I am saying this because I have not been able to stick to one mode of exercise for more than 1 year (but may be that is just me). I am in the process of setting up my next aquarium in my office room. As long as we know what we are doing...,
Good luck man. (I love bench press)

Thank you guys for your support and critical thoughts. I went to have a look at a garage today, it is JUST ACROSS the road from my house, was an AWESOME garage, BUT...the owner was not the best of person, he was FINE with a fish tank and gym gear, but was being very unreasonable and rude.

Apparently he does not have a good reputation in the neighborhood. My dad told me to have patience and keep looking for something CLOSE to my house, since its live stock (even though I dont work out EVERY day) id still need to go and feed them.

So im upset, it was such a good garage location but....oh well I put some banners up, lets see how it goes.!
