Cool. Is about 7-8cm atm. He's not eating since i put in the new heater yesterday, so might try and tempt him with a neon if i can get down to lfs today.
Got some little fish from the pet store today, dunno what it is tho, looks like a stripey tetra. Is really quick and my sooty is having a hard time trying to catch it, doesnt help that it hides above the filter where the sooty can't go. This is his first feeder too.

Well it looks like I now have a zebra danio added to my collection of fish as it is still alive. I don't think it can fit in his mouth, cos he has smashed it a couple of times but never come close to looking like eating it.
Well he eventually got the danio, happened at night so I didn't get to see it.
But back on the topic of growth rate. I went into the store where i bought him from today and he is at least twice the size of the other sootys that he was ordered with, and alot darker. So I must be doing something right.

they are probably under stress from one another in the store also they may not be feeding them regularly

I just bought a 6x2x2 tank setup for him. Not allowed to set it up until my birthday, but should be fun. Is going to look real funny having a 8cm fish with a 6 footer all to himself tho.
