this is getting silly now soooo many threads about the same thing

if you are old en-ought to have kids then you should be old enough to take a little bit of hassle when it comes your way and not find you need to run away and close your account

you wounder why you are getting hassle you have posted over 60 posts in the 2 weeks you have been a member on this forum and most of the posts have been rubbish

yes we all know that your kids love the ray and have called it stingy but its you are giving the kids pain with your bad fish keeping skills you say you have been keeping fish all your life but i don't understand why you are having so many basic problems as rays are no harder to take care of than any other fish

you done no research on the rays before you got them which is very bad and its the rays i feel sorry for
 
I used to run an LFS many years ago and I was always amazed by how many customers would come back week after week for more and more tetras and guppies...I used to question them all the time and you soon worked out that many people THINK that fish die all the time and you just buy more as part of the hobby...many people have kept fish for 10+years and still wash the internal filter sponge out under the tap weekly.

We used to get people coming in saying "I bought a fish from you and it must have been diseased as all my fish died" with a little bit of questioning you soon found out that they have just "cleaned out the tank" and even washed out the filters and had never, ever done a water change as "loads evaporates weekly and I just top up"

Think how many goldfish get flushed per day! They should live for 20 years!

this, and sometimes you get the bad pick of the lfs tank that is already in bad health. alot of times, lfs do not let you choose your fish, but grab you X number of random ones that they can net out.

i just purchased some clown loaches for a tank that has been established for almost 3 yrs, and one is now dying (purchased them on sunday). the others are perfectly fine. i'm wondering if this one ended up being sick in the lfs already or if it was my fault. since none of the other fish in the tank have any issues, i'm leaning towards the sick fish on purchase theory.

i hope your ray pulls through, there are plenty of great and knowledgeable ppl on this forum. a good rule of thumb is, once you make a thread posting a question, just keep adding your other questions to the same thread instead of making new ones for each question. they will still get answered and not piss off everyone with mass thread posts.

i'm glad i found this place before purchasing my rays, was alot more helpful and enlightening knowing what to do and what to look out for beforehand.

stick it out and if the ray does die, just let your kids know that accidents do happen, things do die, it's natural, and maybe get another one when you feel ready. i do recommend reading all of the stickies in this section on keeping rays though.
 
ty hereticlosmorte u were helpful thats what i will tell my kids, u said it best and if he does die, iam not gonna get another one for awhile prob a yr or so, and i wish i would of found this site a long time ago, and i am gonna just gonna ignore the nasty comments someone said i could click on ignore but i can't find the ignore button, cause of instead of trying to help me they wanna put me down, iam only like 4 days new to this site so i didn't know about posting one thread, so for every ? i had i posted new thread for all my new ?, so i will just stick to this thread, and hes still alive but it seems it got way worse over night, to me hes not relaxing hes hardly breathing his gills the holes on his side u couldn't fit a needle in there thats how much there opening, if that makes any sense, what i do know is about 9 days ago when i went to feed him he atleast tried to eat, he put the food in his mouth but he wouldn't swollow and i was cutting the food up really small really really small, so if i would of found this site then, then he be eating by now, and i feel really bad cause i know he has to be hurting, i just looked at him again and his pelvic bone is now starting to show and the dent on his head got bigger
 
i know everyone says not to do it, but is there a way that i can just put the food in his mouth maybe that will make him wanna eat, idc if i get stung either way it would be worth it, wanna do this before he really gets weak

get a Turkey baster, suck up some black worms with it and the slowly put the turkey baster under his disk and squirt them out... thats the best way to try and get him to eat...

ty to all who had my bk, like i said iam new to this and i tend to take things to heart, all i wanna do is the right thing and learn so there won't be a next time, so my rays live a long healthy life, i just wanna do the right thing, and all these a**holes just wanna see me fail, maybe they shouldn't have rays if they want me to fail, cause they don't care about my rays, but they care to see me fail, again ty u too all who helped i know gods with u cause u have a heart and i hope u all have a good christmas if i could shake all ur hands i would
