.....and you WORK at a PET STORE?

WTH is the point of this thread then??, Thanx for wasting everyone's time on this useless thread. I'll never buy anything from any pet store that would hire someone like you.

to figure out if the species really did stuff like this which everyone said they didn't so i believed them, I move the africans out instead to a smaller tank for now im gonna take them in and trade them in or something. I just can't beiieve he did that. The fish thats left he cant do anything to. Either that Or i sell him.

Ahahah i didnt waste anyones time more like the other way around its not like i got any information on the species at hand. All i was told was to take him out and place him god knows where (bucket ) WTF are you talking about.

I didn't get any real experienced people on the actual species. Acutally u wasted my time more than anything with your *****ing and stupid ideas. U stalker. Actually 3 pet stores hired me and i just took the one closet to me. Including the pet store with the best reputation in my city. But its just a side job I make all my money doing something else.

you need help.

I agree with Frank the op needs to research his fish so these mistakes don't happen.
If you don't like the answer then tough, don't ask.

They werent wasting your time. I think someone suggested removing the suspected culprit which you later found to be.

Hard for people to tell eachother exactly whats happening in a tank over the internet.

Apprecuate that they took the time to TRY and help.

Good luck with this issue hopefully your able to sell the trouble maker off

From my limited knowledge of these fish the yellow get bigger than the red. They are also known to be a little skittish at times and are prone to bacterial infections. Therefore an open sparse tank tends to suit them.
Mauna cichlids on the other hand are rock dwelling fish and appreciate a tank with lots of rock and caves. Therefore I see these fish as rather incompatible despite predation issues due to them needing completely different set ups for their well being.

I keep cudas regularly. Like I said prior I wouldn't expect a lone yellow cuda to be killing your fish. They are skittish as mentioned. They are very prone to infections.

The cichlids and the group really spook cudas. Especially a solo fish.

Tail nipping I see with cudas but not the open belly as u mentioned earlier. That's why I doubted the the cuda initially. Could it be rivaling cichlids picking on each other.....sure it could be.

If ur seeing aggression and dead fish then tiss better to remove/separate till things are figured out.

Best of luck.

I kept a lot of red tails also they didnt act like this either which kinda shocked me this one actually bit the sand trying to catch one. The africans i took out. The cuda wont touch whatever else is in there. On the internet it says nothing much about yellowtails at all. That it does'nt already say about rtc.

Stan research the fish? I can't find info on yellow tails out there. It was sold as a red tail. THey didnt even know what it was. We dont get these in our store. We only get red tails here. SO i had to find out what it was here in the first place. the tank is 6 foot long so its got a lot of swimming back and fourth room. But i am either gonna sell him or the african group i dont know.

I think he killed the kenyi but just couldnt swallow it.

There's is plenty of info for yellow tail cudas. Particularly angelfire sites but they are an old site for info for it but remains unchanged. Still can be applied to today's fish and hobbyist.
