Sourcing a fish tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've rescued most of my tanks from the curbside,at different times they were put out for trash pick up.

I've only been that lucky once. Someone up North by my cabin sat out a 29g with nice wood stand. That tank has actually been up and running for 5 yrs now in my basement, and the wood stand made a nice TV stand for my 54" flatscreen after I stained it :)

Well,at least your one shot was a combo.I've never scored any stands in my travels.

haha ive seen the guys scrounging for scrap metal on trash night but youre out there lurking for tanks lol.
Hah!.....oh yeah, the scrap metal scavengers patrol this area all weekend as our collection day is Monday.I often find nice little wooden end tables in my travels too.

im partial to new tanks just cause ive had so many bad experiences buying used. im currently looking for a good deal on a new acrylic. sites like houzz and hayneedle have some pretty good prices on new tanks, usually only available in certain sizes, colors, etc. sometimes petsmart will have good flash sales on tanks with free shipping. ive seen them as much as 40% off.
Black Friday sales will have all aquariums and some select canister filters half off...I got a 75 gallon with stand for $250 and picked up 2 Marineland 360 canister filters for $100 each....hope i did good...
