South American Chiclids and Plants

My Severums will eat and chew on anything I put in the tank. I have 3 small fake plants and they play with one of it. The put it in there mouths and drag it all around the tank.

well so far so good with the plants. I have anubias, swords along with some other things. I bought moss balls and some fern at my LFS. I dont care if they eat some of them at all. The real reason in all honesty was for them to nibble on them. They are far from adults. Still in there teenage years at best. My biggest fish are my red sevs, but they hardly nibble on them. They arent digging them up either...yet
 
it was more to stablize their diet. they were on pellets for a while and now since there plants i think its moer of a balanced diet. they were pooping clear, my thought was constipation. so pellets plus tank plants plus peas and lettuce i think will only benefit the diet for my fish
 
there very tiny though not even at 2 inches yet..of course thats subject to change as they grow older but im looking for there long term health

Not sure if you're still checking this thread. But I purchased 6 baby Uarus in Dec. As long as youre ok with them eating the plants..but honestly it's cheaper and cleaner to feed them greens Romain Lettuce, Kale, no ice burg as it's just filler. I would also recommend feeding them peas, the love them and it helps with gas in their tummy. I get frozen peas, boil them for a few min in microwave and remove the casing and drop them in. You will get green poops but you will have happy healthy Uarus :)
