Anyone ever tried keeping a south american lungfish with stingrays? Just wondering, cuz my lfs has a sa lungfish they've been trying to sell for like 6 months now. I know they can get up to like 4 feet long, but I don't know if they'd be compatible with my rays.

i would watch out for them biteing chunks out of the disks of your rays

the south americans are pretty friendly most of the time mine is in a growout tank right now but currently is around 11 inches long and lives with pygmy cories and there always right next to him eating he doesnt even touch them

Yah, the main thing I'm worried about is would he take a chunk out of my rays... I suppose they could always just sting him back, right?

The lungfish the store has is about 6 inches right now, and my rays are around 4" disk diameter, so there wouldn't be any predator likelyhood for a while, I would think. But I don't know.

I've currently only got Reticulated stingrays, but I may be adding a Humerosa soon if I can find one. I plan on getting all of them trained to feed from a pair of large tweezers, so I can make sure each one gets its fill. That is an interesting observation though.

Edit: by the way, nice looking SAL!

Hi,
