Nov 22, 2025 - about to be 2 years in 2ish weeks! Currently about 68.5 cm / 27” when fully straightened out. Growth has slowed down significantly but at least it’s grown a tiny bit.

Dec 11,2025 - officially 2 year now! Got a better shot of it against the tank (mostly). Looks closer to 70cm/ 27.5”when fully straighten.

, I love this thread! Really nice to see the growth progression of one of my favourite species of fish.I read over and over how the SA Lung is quite omnivorous, eating significant amounts of plant food. Back in the previous millennium when I had my first one, I offered it numerous choices...melon, cucumber, leafy greens, broccoli, banana, grapes, you name it...and it never once touched any of it.
I have another small one now, a "rescue"
for which I will eventually start a thread. Same thing again; he won't even look at any veggies. He'll eat pleco wafers, but if you read the ingredients it becomes pretty clear that the difference in make-up between a herbivore pellet and a carnivore pellet is actually pretty small. Do you offer yours anything along the lines of fruit or veg?
The only thing close that I offer is algae wafers, but it doesn't really seem all too enthusiastic about it. I have Australian lungfish that I feed algae wafers pretty frequently though (They are definitely more enthusiastic, but they'll eat about anything though). But never really tried any fruits or actual veggies.
