just read about these guys.....what a great turtle.... a little bit like an frt but up to 200 pounds !!!

Very cool turtles. I think they are in the sideneck family. They are now very endangered.

Podocemis expansa I think. People eat them down there I think, and yes they get huge. I think there's a Podocemis species that's available in the trade but not sure. Cool turtles though.

Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa Florida has about 50 of these in with the manatees. They are crazy huge. I swear one of them is pushing over 3 1/2 feet.

not positive but i think so......

i think they are red listed ( very endangered )
