Very interesting. Excuse my ignorance, but are turtles eaten in Cambodia less than Vietnam? The melanism of the head does not surprise me, you see it in a lot of other turtle species, like red eared sliders for instance.

Sorry, should have specifyed, the lower side of a turtle shell is called plastron. I would like to take a look at it to see if it fits any known Cuora amboinensis forms.
Its really large, and aparently there are even bigger ones, to me completly unherd off.Would be interesting, pretty big amboinensis. What is the plastrons length and width also?
