Mexican tetras? The only way you can get those is if you catch them your self in TX. I have been looking to buy those for years, and no luck.

i got them from an lfs so i guess i got lucky, the catfish were the tough ones to get, they're rarely found and when they are found big study places either pay a lot for them or they are released. They live deep in caves and are usually found when well drillers cut into one of them, but shipping them across the border wouldd have been expensive if not illegal.

Most of the fish I've seen here haven't been unusual - blue gill, crappie, sunfish, minnows, catfish, etc. Supposedly there is a nice stream with some prettier sunfish in it I need to check this spring. I am still deciding on what to do with my 125.

Doing a Florida x Texas tank now. 1LMB, bluegill, green sunfish, longear, green/bluegill hybrid, Texas Rio, and Im growing out 2 Florida Mono Peacock Bass to add to the tank by this summer.

BTW the fish I mentioned above are all from Florida. I even got all native plants too, most likely all found in their habitat as well. These fish could also be found in Georgia, alabama and a few other states I believe. I will get a pic up soon of my Bluespotted sunfish biotope. I am just waiting for them to color up more and the plants to fill in a little bit more the way I like. I keep the pygmies in a separate tank with swamp darters, I also keep an orange dwarf crayfish which I think is native to Mexico.

I could get a few pics of the darters, and male and female pygmy sunfish. I will probably post them up in a little bit.

Also got an outdoor pond with a florida flagfish, pygmy sunfish, clams, pond snails, and some native chubs from my area.

Sounds awsome. Do you have any pics?

I'm trying to get my hands on a big enough tank to have LMB couple Mud Catfish Maybe if I knew how to ship fish I would help but don't know much about catfish but can learn a bit I'm into Sunfish/Bluegill and LMB.
