Alright guys and gals i just purchased my first bgk, hes pushin 4 inches, i've done my fair share of reasarch, but i wanna hear sumthin from some previous owners, what should i expect.

Expect a nice gentle fish...you'll love watching it swim around the tank, it moves so gracefully and manouvers well i love watching mine and it is a great fish, one of my faves...:)

also check out the ancient species section, sub cat knifefish!
I have 2, one about 13-14" and the other being about 10-12"....

They are super cool fish that will eventually be able to be hand-fed. A word of warning though, I have had a few different ones and one of them would take the heads off my tetras and anything else that was little.

yea they cant be kept with smaller fish

I keep my 13" with neons...no problems yet, and its been a few months.
though my smaller one I've had for almost a year, and Have yet to even come close to hand feeding. people keep syaing that, but I've no luck..
I can hand feed most of my tetras, my MIL koi, my groumis, but not the BGKs

I have one BGK it is about 10inches. It eats from my hand and come out from its cave everytime it smell food. I know some people who only see their knife once a week but mine are showing himself every day. It is quite tame too, like I mentioned.

do clowns and bgk's have the same behaivior? cuz my clown loves to inspect my hand whenever i put it in the tank. I think he thinks im gonna feed him or somethine but i never do.
