I respect everything you wrote and I thank you for clarifying. To be clear, I hope you see that I was not coming from a place of attacking you or judging you, but rather from a perspective of someone who knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of an "overzealous" (to put it lightly) spanker. It goes without saying that it can be taken too far, but you make it clear that you don't fall into that category.

You sound like a great father, not that you need any validation from some random guy on an fish keeping internet website- lol. I misinterpreted some of what you wrote and for that I apologize. Back to the Setup and Filtration forum for me...I need to stay out of the lounge!

Hey, it's not a problem at all...We all assume until we hear it for ourselves.

And to go a bit further with WHY I am the way I am. My first wife knew nothing about consequences, so I have made it my goal to show my children that there are consequences for their actions (not speaking solely on spanking) in life. I was never one to get in trouble with the law or in general other than the obvious bad grades. I try to teach them to THINK before they DO, if they THINK something might get them in trouble or HURT then dont do it.

My daughter has seen first hand how lying, cheating, stealing and drugs can ruin someones life. My Daughters mother, had a silver spoon in her mouth, always BAILED out of trouble when she was younger and expected the same when she was an adult. No consequences for her actions.

I fought tooth and nail for COMPLETE custody of my children because I do not want her or her demented christian family raising my kids.
