So i got a spare 45 gallon (36 long 12 wide 24 deep), and im itching to set it up any ideas on stocking it??? i could really go anyway with it at this point. maybe some haps, or maybe some tangs i dunno

Throw a nice colony of Saulosi in there. They would love that tank. I would stick with dwarf mbuna or go with smaller fish due to the footprint.
What about a pair of brichardi ? If you put a pair (male and female) they would breed like crazy for you and you could watch them raise the generations of fry. I had some in in a 70 gallon tall tank and it was amazing. They are beautiful and interesting to watch. Just cant have anything else in there with them . I had them in there for a couple months and had hundreds of fry and juvies LOL. THey are fantastic parents too.

Shellies are cool,multis,similis or brevis are my favorites
Julidichromis transcriptus colony would be terrific too.
