The variety of wild peacock bass from South America, wild caught on collection points, different parts of water, is there a specific time of the year when these fish spawn? Do they make babies all year round?
Does it also matter which specific type of cichla? If anyone knows the time/month of the year please share your knowledge.

Thanks for reading.

in florida they spawn durning the summer time

I've notived with wild caught SA fish that they come into season late fall (Oct/Nov) and stay ripe until late Feb/early March. This makes perfect sense as down in SA this would equate to late spring through mid summer... breeding time. ;)

After being in captivity for a while I suspect their intermal calenders adjust to their new surroundings and they breed accordingly.

I don't know I think they may stick to the schedule still. That would be intresting to know if there breeding Cycle does change from being in captivity?

IMO scats right.
being in captivity probably does screw up their clock due to the changes WE make when we keep the fish.
