Spawning Largemouth Bass Questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Agree with everybody else, flip a plastic worm (or whatever) on their nest and let it sit, eventually one of them will pick it up and move it, good luck!

I went yesterday and caught small and smaller...

It was cold (49 degrees) and overcast, so I couldn't see them as well as Wednesday. I did spook a pair of lunkers out of the shallows next to the pond's outflow, but still have yet to hook one of these guys. :(

Place looks beautiful! A day like that is begging for a Gary Yamamoto Senko in watermelon with a 5/0 wide gap Gamakatsu hook. Twitch it and retrieve it a few feet/seconds, let it fall, repeat. You would have loaded up!

It really is a nice place, right in the middle of a couple thousand acres of Christmas trees.

Thanks for the advice! Now if I can just figure out what a Gary Yamamoto Senko is...

Kidding - It's a worm, right?

It sounds like I need to make a trip to the Sportman's Warehouse, our local hardware store doesn't carry much.

yea try crawfish lures? bas hate them cuzz they eat their eggs. they eaven eat them if there not hungry to protect their fry. and if theres no craws in that lake id try a worm or lizard. and lol the bas here spawned like 2 months ago.

Good memory! I have seen rubber salamander lures, I'll have to pick some up.
