A mutual friend of ours was going off the other day about how festae are "wanna-be mayans." :)

Congrats on the pair. Anyone doubting the color on these guys... They are actually even more colorful in person.

Shouldn't be hard to find Reggie if you search around a little. They just haven't been up here in the Pacific Northwest for a while. I know Rapps gets them from time to time. After this pairs breeds I'll have 6 extras, if anyone is interested.
 
Very nice to see someone breed these much under rated beautys. They are such cool fish that get stuck in the sahdow of the Festea. They can even live in full salt water what else could you ask from a cichlid.
 
Best pair of Mayans that I have seen! They are so common here that I honestly don't give them the attention that they deserve. People give them away for free but most are not nearly as nice as yours. I'm glad that you shared that pretty pair with us.
