Yeah, but this is the most commonly sold one under the name "Freshwater" eel. They can survive in freshwater, but not for long.

There's no sign of any illness, it seems very active i have two females always very close, and the other doesnt have the stomach or any sign of illness either, its unusually active, trying to jump out the tank. im lost and confused as to whats going on, would be great if it was spawning, but then again there's probably no hope without a male, how many animals in the wild can fertilize their own eggs??

you sure they are both females?
Im not farmilliar with these fish so i cant realy help.....

i hate converted fish. well, the people that do it anyway. regardless of their sex, they will always be pretty close, they love their own sp company. its usually best to keep a few
