This morning I saw a pair in my tank doing a little booty shake laying close to the gravel. I didnt' see anything everytime I looked down. Come to find out the female was laying the egg the male was fertilizing and she scooped it right up before I could see it until I watched for a few minutes with out blinking!:nilly:

I can't believe they are that comfortable considering I just brought them home on Sunday. Any tips or advise you want to share it's welcomed believe me!!

From what I read I should remove her once they are done? She will have the eggs in her mouth. Or can I just leave her in there? My gosh, where am I gonna put her??

congrats!

Remove the female at once! Remove the male after they hatch [the male will gulp them up after they hatch] and put the female back in [optional, she wont do anything to them]

Many breeders keep the fries seperatly.

Give crushed food and keep the room temperature 30-35 C .get a small 5 gallon tank to keep the parents, after the fries hatch , put the fries in the 5 gallon tank and the parents in the larger one.

I have a 10 gal spare tank. Do I move her once they are done? And place her alone in the 10gal? And keep the male in the main tank?

How long do they 'spawn' for? I am at work and not sure if they will be done or not when i get home.

Thanks a ton :)
