Damn...

That is unreal....I really dont like it though.

i dont think its cruel though, the fish wants to live, so the best the owner can do is feed it well and give it a nice home. its not like it was bred with a purpose to show these mutations, these are accidents. plus i dont think the fishes are in pain

You do not see many fish that would survive something like this without a care taker!!
Unreal!!!:)

This fish deserves and has a right to live just like any other living creature. If you had a child that had a birth defect would you want it culled? Props to the owner/care takers.

i was going to say something similar. however i personally do not like the look

It's not about being culled for the defect for that single animal. You know a freak somewhere will call it a 'rare trait' and start breeding them that way for more money. Then you have a defective gene in a gene pool that is already too small.

Mayhaps this happened because the gene was too small in the first place?

To much inbreeding in an attempt to highlight more desirable traits?

whoa i've never seen or knew about this before. unreal! and all the fish turn out healthy and looking great!

i know both of those photos mention genetic mutation...but i still wonder if thats genetic or if something goes wrong during embryo development, which wouldn't necessarily mean it's genetic, right?
