Yea the drop out rate is very high.. I think some people just go for it and hope they make it just to say they're a SEAL.. Congrats on yoru contract.. GO NAVY !!
haha dont plan on taking any pics once you get to san diego. If a instructor catches you with a camera phone inside the buds compound youll be wishing you never saw a camera before in your life. lol. youll get to be wet and sandy alll night long.

thats about as good of advise as you can get. You cant really mentaly prepare for 1st phase but just keep telling yourself to make it to the next evolution. Work on your swimming. Its gonna be the most important thing there. Especially being comfortable in the water when they tie your hands behind your back for pool comp. Boats on heads sucks bad. to get a idea take a 40lb sand bag put it on your head and start sprinting through some sand....than multiply times 10. lol. trust me there will be times in 1st phase that you will beg for surf torture. Good luck man, its 90% mental so if you can turn your brain off and do the work. youll be fine

I have been practicing bobbing and jus perfecting the CSS. If you dont mind me askin you completed BUDS and and the 18 month advanced training following it. Almost 2yrs of training jus goes to show why those guys are so good at wat they do. By time they get to take place in real missions failure is not an option. I do have a 4 yr degree but ima go through BUDS enlisted, as I heard officers only get one shot, while enlisted gets three. Besides quitting to many factors can keep you from making especially if you only get one shot.
I would highly suggest doing it as a officer. not only will you get payed more. but you will be using that degree. Plus your chances as a officer are much higher. Os dont quite like enlisted do. because of theyre leadership position it drives you to stay with your boat crew. If I was you id go as a O. but its up to u.
