yanno, i used to know all the names...and then they kept changing up and i couldnt keep up with the changes! bleck!!

i also wanted to add, in hindsight...lol....that our comps. get along with most any fish that are tossed in the tank, its usually the other way around, other fish seem to terrorize and intidmidate them a bit, usually aggression is amongst themselves if we have it....when they are fry, they stay pretty much even tempered, except for the occassional youngster stud lol....as they grow and mature and begin to stake out territories and future mates, this is when things begin to get chippy...

From my experience D. comps are pretty laid back, but others have had stories of them eating fish... of course I have heard stories of lions eating people, but I do not fear them at the zoo....

Alto comps are great, they are imo not aggressive at all... I have comps and calvus in the same tanks and they get along pretty well...

yup we had a breeding pair of Altolamprologus Mwela Orange Comps, till we lost the female...so we had a forty, and tossed in a few bachelors in, Aulonacranus Dewindti, Lamprologus Calliurus Magara,Transcriptus Bemba....along with a breeding pair of Lamprologus Leleupi.....the Dewindti seemed to be boss, but he wasnt all that challenged for the position, but he was so darn quick, i think the others just tended to give way to him...even the male Leleupi who used to be pushed off once and a while.....the male comp just kept quietly to himself, even during feeding....surprisingly it was a pretty balanced tank for a small tank,40h, of decent sized males...
