Very nice man love to see guys keeping the other Caquetaia species Umbee's are awesome but gets old seening only them :) shhhh don't tell Chris I said that hahah.
Spectabilis are way meaner than my myersi

I would not have guesses that very interesting see not enough people post on these guys not much is known. I have been trying to get my hands on some Spectabilis for a few years now missing my opp this year like an idiot! I keep and grow out 12 myersi a couple years ago. Ended up with only 4 at the end but got them to about 10''. I have to say they were one of the coolest cichlids I have ever kept! I have been wanting more ever since just have not made the tank commitment again for them. Very nice fish let a bother know if you breed the Spectabilis :)

Very funny brother! lol....... I haven't kept Caquetaia Spectabilis since 1998 and when I did I enjoyed them very much. They are my second favorite in the Caquetaia family but still nothing compares to UMBRIFERUM ;) Get some Spectabilis Gordon you will love them :)
Decker Awesome specimens you got there, Thanks for sharing :)

The 3 spectabilis I have cannot be kept together without a divider. I have 2 of them divided in a tank but still have no idea on their sex yet, it is kind of frustrating to say the least but patience is a virtue i suppose.

I'm finding out how nasty they can be. Moved my original pair into a 125 and they are nasty to each other and the other fish. The male I got to go w/ female I lost moving is probably meaner. He shredded a deppi that picked on him originally in their quarantine tank. I'm considering putting the trio in a 75 by themselves divided to see who she likes best. Risk factor involved for sure.
