Down here that is how everyone gets off - most cops here dont show up to court unless you were a real b to them when they were writting the ticket. there to lazy lol.

now that's a bunch of B.S. Not your story but the officer. Everyone should be treated the same, know matter who they are.

yeah. i believe that too. but the world is unfair. i just got lucky he was also a veteran.

I agree. It is unfair for some people to get the penalty while the rest get off it as provided by the law. This is why some people tend to get away with their actions. Some officers do not uphold the laws as part of their job when they should have. Just my opinion.

How did the officer treat the guy any different? He GAVE HIM a ticket? He just happened to not be in court that day which isnt all that uncommon. Of course Im not surprised to see comments like this at all on MFK...

Yeah I don't think it's uncommon at all for a cop not to show up at court. At least where I'm from. I haven't gotten a ticket in a few years, but when I lived at home back in high school, I seriously got at least 6 speeding tickets a year. However, out of like a dozen tickets, I only ended up having to pay and get a point on my license ONCE. I'm definitely not a vet and don't have 'connections' to the police or anything, but the officers just never seemed to show up (usually it was the state police who pulled me over).
Then, one time, the officer did show up, we talked, agreed to plead down to a non-moving violation, and I ended up being the last one called. We go up before the judge, the officer starts saying how he agreed to plead it down, etc., and the judge just says, you know what, you've been here forever, I'm just going to give this one an 'unconditional dismissal'. LOL.

^^Wholeheartedly agree. People getting unfair advantages because of who they are is something that really gets under my skin.

I don't want to argue about this topic, it will be a long thread where no one wins. It's just my opinion, don't stress it.

Fair enough, I just still fail to recognize why extraordinary people should always get ordinary treatment.

They don't hate young people, the cop who pulled you over must of been very very VERY bored.

lol. i only use the word pig, because its another meaning, and it's all on how you use the word in writing.

Thanks you everyone for reading. Yeah life is pretty cruel, it has it's ups and downs, but it's what you make of it.

I'm 18 and I got pulled over for going 55 in a 50 zone. They hate young people.

Its no different anywhere, a few years ago when I had my civic I got pulled over 3 times in one week for "random checks" (registration, license, suspension, exhaust etc) and in the same week dad got let off a ticket for going 88kmh in a 70 zone. Its all part of being young, but don't worry, you'll grow out of it.
