Glad to hear you got it taken care of in time to save your hand - I had somthing similar happen in the beginning of January and was told I'd never use my thumb again.

Two months later and I can do just about everything I used to, without all the strength I had in it at one time - so I can't like...open a pickle jar without some one's help.

Keep your chin up and don't let those doctors tell you what you can and can't do
