the centipedes usally like damp areas with low light ,also they get in your house from the drians . when i moved in my apatment i had some the first 2 months . i fed them to my fish . they stoped coming in when i got a dehumidifier and dried the moisture in my apartment i havent seen on over a year and a half.
o i forgot spiders are always goin to be in your house wether u like it or not they realy are not that bad . just think the anoying fly or yellow jacket thats flyin around your house u dont know about that could be on your food your kid could get stung .the spider would end up takin care of the other pests 4 u. i dont care what any one says spiders rather run from us than fight with us we arnt even on there menu why would the bit for no reason . its just an accuse to kill somethin because u are afriad of it and its creepy lookin, why are most people afriad of something that doesnt compare to our size at all i mean most spiders are so small even if they bit u it wouldnt even brake the skin.
I kill all spiders I see in my house. IDC if they help killing other bugs, in my house their dead.
might be a nursery web spider. cant really tell with that photo, but might try to google the name..

Yeah,the one in the picture looks like the ones that I come across.They love to hang out in my basement....Snakeguy,I know that some roaches make good feeders for some of our pets and they are easily bred for that purpose but I know a guy who keeps a few hissing cockroaches as pets.I would'nt even bother with them as feeders.I'd be too worried about them getting out and infiltrating my house.Industrial;4124355; said:Sounds like cave centipedes.

I honestly don't know what I would do if I ever seen that in my house. MY first thought. Lighter and a can of AquaNet!
