So I just caught a house spider and threw it into my growout tank with a juvi midas and a juvi RD in it. The midas ate it without a second thought. so my question is this are daddy long legs and other house spiders ok to feed to the fish?

some people say its not safe because they could have stepped on some pesticides but i catch cockroaches/crickets/grasshoppers/giant mosquitoes and feed them to my fish all the time. lol

lol I didnt even think about pesticides. I was thinking about them geting bitten or something

daddy long legs dont bite. there was a myth busters episode about them.

im sure spiders that fall into the water are on almost every fishes menu. free protein

yes spiders are safe for them they eat them in the wild its cool to seem them jump out of the water to catch one lol.

When I had a LMB, i used to feed it crickets i caught in my house all the time. Then one day it got really sick after i fed it around 3 crickets. I think there may have been some pesticide on them or something.

they will bite, but they won't penetrate the skin because their fangs are not strong enough to bypass our skin.

how do you think they kill prey in the wild if they can't bite? their venom is among the strongest per size of spider but they can't do anything to us because of the above reason.
