spilo piranha

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you mean purple sanchezi?

yes spiolos can be shoaled but it is not recomended unless you

A) know what you are doing
B) know the risks involved
c) have plenty of space
d) have a backup plan if things go wrong
E) know what you are doing

spiols are very nippy so it would not be uncommon for your shoal to have lots of missing fins

thats a puple sanchezi

people call them purple sanchezis not spilos because they are different then spilos its just a common name but its still a sanchezi not spilo

spilos rarly even reach 7 inches in captivity and only a couple inches more in the wild

are you sure you arnt thinking of another species?

i am positive, i have seen a good number of home grown ones with my own eyes, you might be thinking of sanchezi or another type.

wow didn't see the purple serra's. has anybody heard of shoaling different species of p's, say sanchezis and spilos?????

The purple sanchezis are my favorite followed by the blue diamond. I wouldn't recommend shoaling anything other than pygos...

:iagree:

xr do you have any pics because in the wild they arnt even that big and it would be very rare for a shoal in an aquarium to be that big

mayby your thinking of a tern (yellow varient of rbp)? because they can reach those sizes

you can pretty much shoal any species but for some you may need a monster tank to do so

sanchezis and spilos have both been shoaled and bed in captivity but its not recomended unless you have years of piranha keeping under your belt

they are a really nice looking fish my friend just got a 5 inch yellow spilo.it is very agressive
