sounds like your tank will be over stocked already with al that you are going to have in it. I would say that if you are going to get a turtle, put it in a different tank. Softshells are cool but are not good for a community tank. IF you are insistent on putting a turtle in there, you MAY have success with some sort of terrapin. I have limited experience with them but i did care for a diamondback terrapin that lived in a tank with a large goldfish without incident. These guys do not get too big, they are peaceful, and they do not frequently bask so the basking spot can be small.
