Is ur tank properly cycled? Sounds like ur fishes are stressed. Check ur water conditions and perform a water change is ue water conditions are not ideal. Give us ur tank size, what FILTERATION, and number of ur fishes....we can then help more in detail.

They do not have to be stressed or the water does not have to be cycled. It could be just that it is something that he is not customed to eating. I would give him another week.

I agree that there could be nothing wrong, and since it is a new fish it is likely just not used to the new food. If it gets to the point where you are worried the fish is starving or stunting its growth, you could ask what your LFS what they were feeding it before you bought it (or whoever you bought it from). You could then feed some of the food it is used to, mixed with the food you want to feed - trying to get the fish used to the new food.

I have my fish tank for 2 years now. And it's the 4th day now that my new labidochromis hongi dousnt want to eat. It looks healthy and swimming around. Do you know what's the problem?

maybe its not tastey. Maybe try it And ssee how it tastes? some fish are just picky and will take some time to eat certain food or may never take it. But most cichlids will eat whatever eventually.

Some fish are just picky eaters, but I'd avoid tropical flakes for mbuna (is that what you have??) as it tends to have a high protein content which can lead to malawi bloat when not properly digested.

Probably just doesn't like the food, or isn't used to the type of food (flake vs pellet or something). I would say that if the fish hasn't eaten in about 7-10 days maybe to start worrying and take preemptive action. But for now just keep trying. Obviously if the fish starts to not seem as healthy take action sooner.

Also, I mentioned that you could contact whoever you bought it from and see what they were feeding.

It's been the 6th day that my new labidochromis hongi is not eatin it looks healthy. When ever I give my fish food. The labidochromis looks like it wants to eat but dousnt take it. What should I do? I might just call the fish store and ask them what they were feeding it.
