My ray would always do this when he was in the 75 gallon. Now that he is in the 180 he never does it.

my old female used to splash me and squirt water at me all the time.... she would even stick almost halfway out of the tank to be fed.....

both my retics are the same way also. they enjoy zig-zagging around the top of the tank, and popping in and out of the water. it seems they do it more at night however when the lights are out, and im trying to goto sleep. 2 splashing rays, and a jumping arowana make for an interesting nights sleep

In my tank I feed via a tube. My P14 is actually hanging upside down on the tube when he's hungry:)

Ones I forgot to screw on the cap and he actually pushed out water out of the tube, upto 2 meters from the aquarium!!

thats pretty funny..... I could see how that could happen. I had my tank at the end of my bed and it my rays would poke theres heads out and spit at me like 3-4-5' feet away and wake me up at night..... just like a pet to test you like that....

lol.

off the subject but feeding with a tube is a great idea, i am going to try that. i have a big fire eel in with my rays and it is hard to get food to them with that damn fire eel. he can eat about 5 -10 pcs of whole frozen shrimp. any way thanks for the idea!
