might be able to help you with this, what's the tank size, tankmates and any chance of a full tank shot. had a similar problem with a very similar fish. here's mine at 13", 100% stable for last 18mths.

one 9" Mono peacock bass
two 6" Orino peacock bass
one 9" Indo Dat (the split bar)
one 8" NGT
one 6" Indo Dat
Two 4.5" Mango Pleco (L47)
Two 3" Chubby Pleco (L56)
one 3" Honey Gourami

Total: 11 fish

Nice ITs guys....Tell that to my dats. The whole black background made mine go unstable and want to keep a dark skin tone. But the dats in a lighter tank stayed more stable. To me it all comes down to the fish.
 
Keeping dats stable is different for every dat. I had a power outage and my dats were so stable the morning the power came back on. Now two of them are back to unstable and ther other one is stable 80% of teh time.
