Split Tank

If you'll be removing the fry from the tank, why is it necessary to separate? I must be missing something here.

Simple divider to keep adults separate, not that hard. Once they make little frys/fries, remove them. There doesn't seem to be a need for a fry-proof divider.

Hmm plexi-glass could work, but then you are going to be messing with the current of the tank unless you have filters/outputs on each sides of the tank and vise-versa with the intakes so you could keep each side clean.......

Egg crate is the easy way to go, but I don't know how you could make it so fry couldn't get through.......maybe wrap the eggcrate in netting or screen of some sort? Good luck and post pics of whatever you end of doing......

Maybe an some fine mesh sandwiched btwn 2 thin egg crates. Durable yet functional.

I suppose if the tank was just for looks I could agree with you, but a 180g tank split in 2 with breeding colonies on both sides and hopefully fry on a regular basis, I'd like some added security.
