I've started using those sponge filters for about half a year now And they are great! I put my powerheads and filters on it and it's something I would probably forever use as a part of my aquariums.

But Im wondering has anyone seen or know where to buy one thats even bigger about one or two foot all around? I have a inside pond that is about a thousand gallons around there and Im looking for a super super size sponge filter for it...

Or if anyone knows what material are they made out of so I can just make one?

Try and source "open cell foam", that is what they are made from if memory serves correct. For that size I believe you will be making your own. I am a HUGE sponge fan myself. ;)

I believe so, I did a bunch of research a bit ago trying build a background that was the filter but the fish I keep would eat it over time... :irked: Again this is off of memory but to my knowledge, this is what the hydor sponges are made of as well.

I like Hydro-sponge brand, cause they sink fast, but if you wanna make your own check out youtube theres alot of "how to make your own sponge filter" vids.
