Here is my 4ft tank with dual sponge filters and a powerhead

i have been toying with this idea for a while, i normally use internals which are basically a sponge and power head and was thinking for flow in a goonch tank. i was thinking mounting the PH at different heights on one end, then the other end one large coarse filter (I.E in a 6x2x2 the filter sponge would be 2x2 and maybe 4" wide) the flow would push all the particles straight into the sponge.

my best results have been with an aquaclear 301 (or 30 now) powerhead with a sponge inside this-

wrapped with a piece of felt. I haven't had to rinse the sponge in two years. I swap out the felt every week, but there has been a time or two it has lasted for two weeks without clogging completely.
