I guess I worded that wrong. Is this something that naturally can occur, such as a deformation? Or if this "man made" from forcing the neck back?

It's a genetic deformation mainly from captive breed fish. Usually occured on hybrids.

It was about 16" when I sold him. Shame he's traded hands a few times and I no longer know who owns it . SO much for buying him back
