Spotted Gar or Marble Gar?

Could this be why my LFS labeled them as Marble Gar? Because these are in fact not real gars so they could not be punishes for selling gars??

no, that is in fact a true gar.

Most likely your LFS is selling them as a marble gar because that's what the fish were sold to them as. Most if not all LFS are going to sell Florida gars as spotted gars. You have a nice looking Florida gar there, enjoy.

they're selling them as marbled because you're in CA where true gar are illegal. marbled "gar" are not true gar. just fyi.
