Those specs sound pretty good. My 125 is 5x1.5x2 so that sounds like 150 gals or so.
Also, that tank with the wood in it looks fine as is...

yeah i plan to get a wide aquarium instead of a long one. is 6*1.5*2 feet ok? ill try to make the 35gal more spacious when i get home.

you need bigger. try to find a 75g

^ Yep I would shoot for a 75G, or just get the permanent tank now if you can. 6x1.5 is OK but they will likely eventually outgrow that, shoot for a 180G.

the tank im getting is roughly 135gal. i want to buy a bigger tank but we are renovatin our entire house so i dont have any place to put a 75gal or higher tanks. thats why 55 is my best choice for the moment. our house will be finished hopefully by april. so im not sure where i can put a 135 gal tank in an apartment for 4. tsk tsk
