Great fish!!! I have 4 of these guys in a 40 breeder with some little IT dats and a nandus. Out of all the ambush predator, perch-like fish I own, these were by far the easiest to get to eat prepared foods.
I started them off on blackworms, bloodworms, beefheart, and the occasional feeder fish. I started introducing prepared foods, like Hikari and HBH, and they took it without hesitation.
As far as temperment goes, they tolerate their tankmates very well...with the very rare squable now and then, but I never have to worry about them beating anything up. They like well-planted aquariums with a lot of hide spots using plants with very broad leaves and driftwood with lots of caves/crevices.
