thanks guys, i got him end of march this year at 1.5" shell length and he's now around 3.5" and much wider.
Does anyone have experience keeping them with other turtles?, i've seen them kept with red ear sliders and am really tempted too get a loggerhead musk.

These guys should NOT be mixed with other species. As they grow older they can become more aggressive and can easily bite the leg, tail or head off another turtle....even by accident during feeding. It's just not worth it. But if you have a large enough pond you can keep it with other similar sized snappers.

20x 15 is different then a 55g

well obviousley, i wouldn't attempt to keep anything else with him currently as he's only in a 90, But later on he'll either be getting an 8x4 or he can go in the 3500g outside pond but i fear the weather would be too cold up here in the uk.

Dunno about snappers but I live in Scotland and have a 2000gal pond in which I have 2 yellow belly sliders.

They been in there around 2-3 months and are loving it. I dont see them much as they like to hide but on nice days when I go out I hear the splash and then when I look there is a big wet mark where they have been basking.

In the winter you have couple of options, bring it back inside or made sure there is a lot of mud/soil on the bottom of your pond for them to hibernate in.

Aslong as the water temps at the bottom do not get lower than around 3 degrees then they will be fine through hibernation.

Thanks for that info, if a yellow belly can survive scottish temps i'm sure a snapper can survive temps here, i'll probabaly wait till next year too put it outside as its still quite small and i'd end up losing him.
