Feed him a mix of krill, crickets(feed crickets fish flakes),prawns,shrimp and some fish.
Good diet choices and sunlight bring out better colors.
Having read about red Arowanas, what I understand is it takes around minimum 4 to 5 years to color up in red. Before that they go through yellow and orange coloration on their scales. it has to be put in white tank and white lights first as juveniles to enhance level of scale shine.Iirc red aro should keep in black tank
