thanks for the info riftraft.the female started to eat the eggs after the 2nd or 3rd day.i forgot and i seperated her after and the rest of the eggs got white.the male was probably too young.i paired her with one of my bigger males which is about 7" and she is laying right now.i should remove the male after hes done again right?also, i was wondering why do some people use methylene blue and an airstone next to the eggs while taking out both parents?thanks again for the info guys

U can take the male outif you want but for sure if it starts eating the eggs. The medication and airstone is used toprevent the eggs from getting fungus but if you leave the female with the eggs, she usually fans it so it won't be really needed. Gl with the eggs. Do u have pics of the 2?

I've had success several times by moving the eggs to a separate tank same water temp. greyish eggs black dots..tilt the plate in the corner of the tank with the air line and stone at the bottom making sure the air is streaming across all the eggs. Probably put some rocks to prevent the plate from falling over. Then they usually hatch within 3-4 days. Like a few others suggested use meth blue and sponge filter as well. If ya don't hatchlings will get stuck to the bad eggs that get fungus

thanks for the info guys.i dont think the big guy did the job this time.its alright, will try again in 2 weeks.i got a question, should i put them in a tank with less distractions like in my room because they are in the living room right now and it has a lot of traffic during the time when the females usually lay.thanks again
