SRS aka Red Monkey

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People don't know or care to know the lineage of a great kamfa flowerhorn. I would love for you to ship him to me but he's too large to ship safely imo you'll find the right home for him eventually. If it were me id keep him. The chances of him fading anytime soon are slim to none imo.

Hmm. I guess I'll just focus on getting him healed up.. The other side of it has a huge hole from a fight it had with a FH.

Nice man. I'm searching right now for a SRS/red monkey.

Thanks, GL with your search.

dosent have the body shape of an srs but it could be a nice fader if it coloured up... definateley deserves to be rescued thats for sure. I'm in oklahoma if you cant find anyone to take him down in texas I'll take him.

+1 camphilophus for IDing this guy as a classic. Very classic

I'm confused. You don't think its a SRS but you agree with Cam? O_o

I don't consider this as a SRS/RM. Something about this fish just doesn't fit in that category if you were to really look it v.s. all the other SRS/RM you see around whether it is Google Image or Youtube. But I can see why your listing it as such though...not bad of a fish.

I think its just lower quality and hasn't been line bred for as long as most of the better strains. This one appears to be more synspilum than most but I still think it fits into the same category. Definitley a hybrid leaning towards old school kamfa. A couple more generations and you could have something really nice. I bet if you bred him to a female midas you would have some amazing offspring.

Update.. He's peeling some more. His eyes have turned white and he's healing up pretty well. Just an FYI, this is not my tank lol. Sorry for the crappy pic, I'll try to get better shots soon.

Got some better pics. Excuse the blue light, my friend is careless when it comes to his fish tank equipment lol. Anyway, I convinced him to keep it so he can try his hand at breeding. What do you guys think would be better for using to breed with him. A Blood parrot, or a Midas/Red Devil?
