not sure anyone have ever ask this question before. i have two ITs, one NTT, and two NGTs, but my major problem is that the ITs, NTT and one of the NGT never get stable. when the lights are off they then to get their colors back with solid black stripes. when lights are on they looses it. or when it is feeding time with feeders in the tank the grow their solid stipes and golden bodies. so does anyone know how to keep them stable stripes and golden body colors?

i have some and they are just like yours. I heard people say they like lots of current in the tank, a blue background helps, light colored substrate and oxygen rich water. But other people say you just cant make a dat stable, its just the way they acclimate to the environment. Im not an expert hope it helps a little.

The question has been asked ;) What you describe is pretty common for dats. As as I said before about stability, Some will, some won't and some might. My only advice is clean water and oh yeah ...time.

Y'know it's weird but when I started my thin bar strictly pellets he really got unstable but when I started throwing MP in again with the pellets he stabled up within minutes like when I first got him and he was only feeding on feeders. Just a thought but diet might play a role too.

My NTT changes all the time. When i walk up to the tank it changes colour in minutes.

My IT is always dark but yesterday suddenly the black and yellow stripes are marvelous....and the difference is yesterday, there's no electricity for filter, so the oxygen level was very low.......once the filter was running again and so the oxygen level's back to normal, and so my IT's back to dark again......wondering why??

Try adding some floating plants like Tiger Lotus to the tank, it will subdue the light in places and generally make the dats feel more secure?

my guy just stayz in the pot.he stays the same dark color 85% of the time. n eats but is like almost scared to.

i thought the key is make sure that our datz doesn't feel secure without making him scared :screwy:

no hiding places works for me

if the tiger has hiding places he will hide and blend into the dark
