I have a 30 right next to my computer monitor and I swear my severum loves to see what I'm doing:ROFL: He just hangs out close to where I sit and just sits there.

So I guess all things considered in your last response I think you need a 300+ size tank:headbang2 Ha just kidding but you might consider a large tank to come out of the pond:headbang2

I have a super-secret addition to my pond , that one day I might attempt to build.

The super secret addition is to connect two different ponds via 8" sewer pipe.

This is what Im thinking:

The pond I have now is great.
I will be moveing it upstairs in a few weeks to the 3-season porch we built on to the house.
But outside this 3-season porch there is a cement pad about 12foot by 12foot square.
It would be so cool if I made a 2nd above ground pond outside on that cement pad and connceted the two ponds right though the porch wall with a length of 8"sewer pipe.

this sewer pipe would be based on the same design as my upside down aquarium.
The pipe would come up out of the pond, go over the wooden ledge, then go down to the cement where it would disappear into the outer wall of the porch. Inside it would just scoot along the floor over to the indoor pond, rise up over the pond liner and dive down into the pond.

Think how cool that would be in a video!
I could teach the fish to listen to a bell, and when I ring the bell they know to race to the other pond to get the food.
I could make the fish swim from one pond to the next and back again seeking food.

As far as I know, no one has ever attempted to connect an indoor pond to an outdoor pond in this manner.

It's years away I know, but thats my super-secret plan for my pond....(tell no one)

Got it!!!! Its just between you and me!!:D:D:D When you do finally implement the long running pipe secret fish plan I defiantly want pics. Of course we would show no one cause its a secret and all.:headbang2

Today I attempt to move the basement indoor pond upstairs.

It sure sounded like a good idea when i told my wife my plans...
The first step I have to do is take apart the upside down aqaurium and drain the pond's water, catch the fish and try to take out the liner without poking a hole in it.

I got the liner out of the pond plywood box but I learned that I made an error last month when I made this thing and I did not use screws as I sure thought I had.
Turns out I used a ton of 16penny nails, too many to attempt to remove without smashing the plywood.

I going to attempt to move the whole pond box up stairs alone.
Not sure yet how to do that, I think it weighs in at about 600 lbs.

I turned it on it's side and used little rollers to push it over to the stairs, but after I got it up a few stairs I have given up the idea of being able to move it alone...

Im stuck!
There is enough clearance, but it's way too much weight for me to lift.

trouble is that now it's hard to get up and down the stairs too.
I have an idea, I think I have my dad's old "Come-along" cable jack and if I can find it I think I can rig something at the top of the stairs.

Taa- Dah!
Dad's old cable jack worked like a charm!

I bet thats the first time in 30 years that jack has seen any action...LOL

I used some 2x4s at the open front door of the house, (Yes it got cold with the door wide open for an hour) as a brace, used 2 chains and was able to lift the pond plywood box all the way up the stairs out of the basement and right into the porch!

This is about where I think the pond will sit forever.
There is a lot of afternoon sun out of the south and so it should be easy to grow water plants.

It will also make looking into the pond to see the fish a lot more easy.
Being a basement pond was OK for a while, But I always wanted it up in the porch where it should be .

This is my Pond Filter barrel
Im getting ready to see where it's going to go.
The room where the filter is sitting in this photo is unheated, right now it's about -16 below zero in here.

I know that more that likely I killed all the bio-media life, but I will just start over in the spring.
