stacking rocks and sand depth?

addicted... The epoxy is plumbers putty that cures underwater. I use it to make caves, and many reef keepers use it to bond live rock together. It would be a waste to cover pots w/it. Try silicon and then the sand.

Is egg crate nec. on Acrylic? or just overkill and being a hyper-hypo....

just eggcrate the area that your going to be stacking rocks on, then have about an 1.5 of sand. anything more then you risk having dead spots from lack of circulation (forgot what is was called)

Gas pockets. But certain types of sand a more prone to it than others. But if you have diggers the sand get stirred up enough anways. Plus if you use filter sand its supposedly not supposed to do that.

Anyways, i use 3-4 inches of sand and the rock layout is always changing. Just make sure your base rocks touch the bottom. I also use the lighting crate on the bottom for rock stability.
And if you ever have to divide a tank you can lock another piece of crate into it.
