I think aside from my Cubans these would be my top pick for 'most desirable cichlid', I like their profile much more than the standard rivulatus. Unfortunately I have never seen them for sale in my country.

I enjoy the way you are keeping them, one pair plus some schooling tetras in a generous tank. I keep a pair of cubans with some beunos aires tetras in a 450L, so kind of similar style.

I'm from New Zealand.
I sympathise with always messing with the scape! Personally I liked your lush scape a bit more, maybe because it is less common to see these types of cichlid in planted tanks. Is that big vertical tree stump real or fake?

I had to do away with the heavily planted tanks as these goes wont let my plants stay down long lol I started to like this scape tho, just layed the last layer of sand on top...

Oh and the vertical stump is fake but the rest is real of course, Ive been searching for a way to create this look for a while now
 
Wow!! These guys are one of my favorite cichlids, yours are gorgeous, your tank is nice also :), what do you feed them? I am crazy about these cichlids...
