Start of another Pirahna scare?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
After the long drawn out fight I finally got him close enough to the shore to get an id on this fish, but where the whites of his eyes should have been all I could see was blood red, the waters where churning as we fought back and forth, back and forth. Finally I landed him on the bank but he wasn't done yet he started flipping and flopping in my direction jaws chomping, teeth grinding, and those blood red eyes lighting up the sky. I tripped on a rock and was pinned, the only thing I had within reachin distance was my knife, As he flipped closer and closer I started slashing my knife in his direction. He lunged, grabbed ahold of the end, chomping down and holding on strong I managed to fling him 10ft. in the opposite direction. I looked down at my stainless steel blade in amazement and he managed to LEAVE A IMPRINT ON THE BLADE OF MY KNIFE!!!!!!!!:WHOA:    Yep, as said before another black eye for the hobby!:irked:

going by its teeth, its definite not a Piranha....it a Pacu, besides the according to the story as told by the guy who "was attacked", its typical Pacu agression that the fish displayed, but denting a knife is a little far fetched i feel, although it may be possible as pacu's have a pretty devasting bite strength....

haha! i have read this before. how does an idiot like that get a job for dnr. i guess saying it was a piranha was the more dramatic story! if he said it was a pacu nobody would have cared.

billy bob "knows" his fish lol

"i rekkon it jumped at me and bit maa knife and left his teef mark on this here blade yeeeeep"

i wonder what "other"magical fish he found.....lol:ROFL:

I'm sorry, doesn't anybody realize, that most people who are fishing, are usually drunk, and the idiot just wanted to make himself sound tougher?!

You forgot to mention the part of his report where he offered the DNR agent a beer!! "Hey cuz, since we's got owrselves a peeranna, y'ant a beer?"

I did find a couple of articles by looking for "anglers catch piranha" and MOST of these stories correct thier information as Pacus not Pirahnas!!

So I get people should be more afraid of pacus that piranhas, huh?

Some people tried getting the paper to change this story, but they said they wouldn't until they had more conclusive evidence from the DNR.

They like the added rush of a meat eater in their midst I guess.

should of made it a poll.:nilly:
1-pacu 100%
2-piranha 0%
