I'm glad I caught up to this thread. THAT TANK IS HUGE!!! cant wait to see it full of your monsters!

Don't paint. Buy background paper in black color and put it on the stand before you put your tank. If you can find someone who sell vinyl paper (usually can be found at shop that made sign), it's even better. It has glue on one side, so you can just stick it to outside bottom of the tank

Not sure if it true or not but I have read somewhere that if you put a background on an acrylic tank, the tank will have crazing from the background.

:eek::eek: I hope not!!! :eek::eek: My 180 has black background on the bottom. My 150 has black vinyl. It looks better with the vinyl, because less bubble

my 450 has silver underneath and u cant even see it unless u look from straight down.

the vid was a 140gal. the bichirs and rays are the only fish he gets along with. he will kill everything else. thanks for the replies. the rays are in, and pics will be up later. also i have another sweet vid of the armatus feeding, i will get up as soon as i can.
