Start of the silver dollar tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Grow out for the time being.
I change my mind like I do underwear. Not often and usually at the last minute. Plan for months then head straight left. Good chance next photo this thing will have a bunch of plants discus and rams.
Waiting on word from the lfs to see if he can get me something funky in the way of silver dollars.

Great looking set up! Small silver dollars would be fine, but when larger. Believe they'll never be calm in a four footer. Especially when u walk up close to the tank. Some will be a little banged up from hitting objects and the glass. Just an observation from other silver dollar tanks I've seen.

I have 2 branches sticking up in my 6ft tank right at the back. My sd's are always hitting the branches. Less hiding spaces the better. Less chance of getting hurt

I hated having silver dollars. Their lips were always raw looking from crashing into everything.

mine in my 450 are always coming to the front and begging. they rarely if ever run into the sides or dart around, mostly just chillin and looking for a cookie

Watching them eat algey tabs has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed.

exactly, i throw those algae wafers in and each of them grabs a cookies and is quite content while the rest of the tank eats

Mine are the same way in our 265 gallon, 7 foot long tank. They really are a different fish in when they get into a big tank. But, they still don't like water change time...lol.
